Old Kentucky Chocolates is amazing! Everything in the entire shop is great. If you are looking for a place to purchase candy, or if you're looking to try something new, or if you're looking for gifts, this is the spot to go. You seriously cannot go wrong with anything you would get from this place. But, remember this when you go: CHOCOLATE. COVERED. GRAPES. That's right. Short and sweet comments. Always stop there on our way from ga to Ohio Buy enough to share and eat until the next time. There is nothing wrong with eating frozen chocolate. Love it. Best ever.

So I have been to the downtown location, but never the Southland location. It is much bigger of course, but I also love the people who work here. I felt like I was at home, surrounded by chocolate. My coworker sent me here to pick up some chocolate for a fundraiser they were doing, and why did she send me into the chocolate store? What kind of friend is she? I went crazy! I love walking in to this store, the aroma of chocolate hangs in the air. My favorite things to purchase are chocolate covered potato chips and chocolate covered grapes. But they also have an assortment of chocolate dipped everything like pretzels, marshmallow, rice crispy treats, apples... This is a great place to pick up a gift for your mom, wife, a favorite teacher or your "friend" that is on a diet.

This is a great place that I would highly recommend. We stopped in here traveling through Lexington and wanting to try bourbon balls and heard they had tours of the candy factory. They do have tours on but not on Fridays, which is of course when we went. I wish the tour information was listed on their website as that would have been nice to know. This is a very large store with all sorts of pre-packaged gift chocolates and baskets, as well as a large display case where you can hand select your favorites. The lady who has worked at the counter at each of our many visits has been so friendly and kind, suggesting my son help himself to the samples set out on display. We tend to purchase their chocolate covered fruit (strawberries, grapes, etc). Hard to go wrong with a place dedicated to chocolate. I've had several items from here over the years, and all have been high quality a d delicious. Their focus is on chocolate, obviously, but they also sell a few other types of treats. Their nuts are particularly good. They have fresh chocolate covered strawberries some days, and fresh chocolate covered grapes on others (only place I know of that does chocolate grapes, but they are excellent). Delicious bourbon chocolates and plenty of free samples here! I wanted to purchase some chocolates to take back to NJ. It was really hard deciding what to take. But I went with the bourbon milk chocolate balls. However, they have a variety of chocolates and truffles. Go enjoy and sample!
