Absolutely horrible facility. Understaffed, unqualified, not communicative, inconsistent, negligent… the list could go on and on. Also preferential treatment in their visitation policies. I do not understand how this facility is allowed to continue to operate. It is an absolutely dangerous and negligent place, in all areas.
This is a horrible nursing home! My father used his bathroom and needed toilet paper. Someone came in his room. He asked that person to get him some and was told they were not his nurse and wouldn’t get him any. He used Kleenex that he was able to find which clogged the toilet. Maintenance came to look at it and never returned. A staff member left meds in his bathroom in a cup. He doesn’t know if they are his or someone else’s. Put caring people in charge!
Might as well be a SLAUGHTER HOUSE!!! Dirty, unkept, and unpleasant. Patients are screaming for medical assistance and no one tends to them. When I visited, a patient across the hall screamed for the entire 45 minutes I was there, when an aide finally checked on her, the aide was rude and told her she was fine and to get over it. My Grandmother was told that dirty laundry was to be put on the floor for staff to know what was dirty to take to the washroom. Horrid dirty no meds or supervision understaffed
My mother was neglected due to staffing issues and causing numerous trips to the emergency room and extended stays at Thompson Hospital. If you care for your family consider other places.
My Father was there and did not get the care he needed. Always a big turnover with staff. Obviously, they don’t get paid enough! My Father did not get his meds on a daily basis. A very critical thing if you ask me. He would ring for someone and it would take forever for someone to come. The place needs a big overhaul!
I was in this hole for 8 1/2 months, way too long. If you or a loved one are needing a lengthy stay or permanent home go somewhere else. If you or a loved one need PT/OT or Speech Therapy and it is an anticipated short stay this is the place to get it. Every single therapist is wonderful, each has their own way. They work as a team and really help you. The activities crew are good people but they are limited. A couple goodbaides are still there, but they are frustrated.
