Did horrible surgery on me 15 months ago. Laun Can’t do the work YET Laun suggest’s 3 DENTAL SCHOOL’S.? Why didn’t you suggest SIU Dental School? I won’t go to anyone non Board certified. I read it all in office note, You failed to send page 1. NOT SURPRISED On page 2., Stated referral was School’s/Students! You can’t even do the work but a student at a dental school can? Oh you forgot my consent form to get records sent to my home. Think I want another Oral Surgeon to read your lie’s? If you don’t agree with Laun he ... read more

Business response:

Cone Beam CT scans are not indicated on every patient. A Cone Beam CT scan uses a special technology to generate 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. CBCT imaging is indicated for deeply impacted teeth, implants, some bone grafting procedures, pathology such as cysts, tori removal, supernumerary teeth, and evaluation of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals, and nasal cavity. There are many CBCT machines on the market and the imaging and quality you get fro... read more

Office workers are rude and unprofessional. No billing transparency.

Business response:

Bridgett: We appreciate the feedback. All patients are given an itemized treatment plan for services being rendered at our office. To be as transparent as possible, our office provides all patients with a written financial policy for our office. Additionally, you are not a patient of record at this office, and to request of any small business a profit and loss statement, along with salaries of all team members is unreasonable. Respectfully, Billy B. Laun II, DDS

My daughter had an appointment with Dr. Laun at 3:20 on November 16th and I had to pay $385 for the exam, including a CT. We did see the doctor until 5:05. There were NO X-rays taken. No CT. No scans whatsoever were done. He educated us about the history of TMJ for 18 minutes and said for my daughter to stop wearing her retainer and start wearing a mouth guard. I called and asked why I had to pay $385 when I provided the X-ray, MRI disks, and radiology report to them. First, the office manager said I prepaid for a CT. She d... read more

I had a referral to this office for wisdom teeth. When I arrived for my consultation I asked about the insurance coverage, and was told we would cover that later. While speaking with the Dr., I asked again and was told the same thing. Finally at the end, I talked with someone who couldn't tell me anything, and said she had to call me later. 2 days later I find out they aren't in network, and now I'm being billed $100 for my consultation that I never would've had if they would've answered my question up front. I called and tr... read more

Business response:

When patients call our office, our main concern is to take care of their dental needs and not which insurance company patients have. We feel that if it's important to a patient, then he or she will choose a provider from his or her insurance company's list. We have insurance information readily available on our website under the insurance information tab that provides further information to our patients. In order to maximize benefits for our patients, we send out claims not only to dental but also medical when possible to ... read more
