Our house built in the 50s still had the original attic pull down door and wooden steps. It was basically held together with duck tape and for an 80 year old woman, it was totally unsafe. The house also had vents that were supposed to open and close with temps but hadn’t done so in years. The Orkin annual inspection made it clear these things needed to be replaced.
