I took my newborn (11 days old) to be seen for congestion and rapid breathing. She did not have a fever but she was eating less and extra fussy. I asked if any testing was necessary since she had green nasal drainage. Provider stated it wasn’t necessary and that congestion was normal for newborns. Nothing was done and it was a waste of our time and copay. It took longer for us to check in than the actual time with the provider (felt rushed). Had appointment to eval for possible wrist fracture. NP barely assessed the arm/wrist. She took 3-view xray and said there were no fractures. Nurse applied ACE wrap. Received a call later in the day from nurse to inform us that radiologist reviewed xray and “there was concern there could be a fracture”. Nurse said they had a Velcro splint we could pickup- no further instructions or treatment. A splint alone did not seem appropriate, so asked for clarification on treatment. It was our first time to visit PM Pediatric Urgent Care and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. The front desk was helpful with checking in and registering. Dr. Mann and her nurse were absolutely amazing. They were so personable and cheerful, despite the time of night. We never felt like a nuisance, much like previous urgent care visits elsewhere.
