Needs in line filter Works fine. The only complaint I have is that the add on filter should be sold with the unit. As it is the debris from the vacuum goes directly into the pump filter and/or main filter without it. You absolutely need the in line filter. It was about $50, but the price should be added to the unit and included in original package.

Great product at a great price. Great product at a great price. The original seal on the box had been broken and resealed, but I presume this was to put the extra bag in the box. Looks legit.
Good product - easy to use and clean. Just purchased the Polaris 9550 and it does a good job so far. Had the product for three weeks and it cleans walls and floor pretty good, however, there are times it struggles to pick up large leaves and very fine unresolved chemicals. You need the ultra fine filter for fine particles, which doesn't come with the product. Considering the price - it should come with the device. Overall, so far I'm happy with the product. Super easy to clean as well.
