First one was a dud So, I bought this label maker to make thin 6mm labels and ordered extra tapes. I thought the aftermarket tapes I got were bad as the over laminate was not aligned with the label and it caused all sorts of issues so I bought a Brother branded tape and it had the same issue. Well it turns out the tapes were fine and it was the label maker itself. Great handheld - but some irritating cost cutting chaps my hide This is a great little handheld label maker. The print quality is excellent. But you can NOT us this directly out of the box. It does NOT come with a power adapter or batteries. And they only provide a "starter" label cassette. Sort of like those irritating printers we all love to hate. Helps you get organized Brother P-Touch, PTH110, Easy Portable Label Maker - it works well. No complaints. Some complained that a lot of the label is wasted. Well, yes and no. If you make one label at a time, yes, it can waste some of the label. (each label has a blank header and a blank tail.) But if you're making several labels at one time, and you plan it right and make one long label (versus for example 5 short ones), then the waste is significantly reduced. Large selection of styles for printing I like the large selection of print styles. Somewhat difficult to learn how to make them. Too long of leaders seems to waste the tape.
No LCD contrast Even though the instruction booklet shows how to change the LCD contrast for easier viewing, it is not possible with this PTH110 model. After buying it I found this out only by reading the answer (by the manufacturer) on a Q&A on this page. I am a senior and I find it quite difficult to see the scree , other than that, it works fine.
