Visiting NYC and went for dinner with my family. Restaurant was not very crowded which a very good after a day of traveling. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer, they were ok, lots of batter. Overall service was a little slow, especially the drinks. Our poor waiter was working both inside and had tables outside. Llli ordered the crab cakes with grilled shrimp. I stay at the WestHouse Hotel frequently because my best friend oversees that and 8 other properties. Every time I stay there, I have dinner at RedEye. Their GM is the nicest, most accommodating, and warm people you will ever meet. The staff treats you like a guest at a resort and they always have something fun planned to make your experience better. the food was very good and our server made us feel comfortable and was attentive. Initially the hostess wanted to seat us at a table immediately adjacent to the intersection and across from the wait staff station. Our server was kind enough to reset us to a booth along the windows that was much more comfortable with less street noise.

When the weather is excellent, so is outdoor dining on the Redeye "patio." Since the quality of the food and the service are terrific, an evening dinner is a wonderful experience, so long as the rain stays away. So a careful check of the weather predictions should precede heading over, but, when you do, you'll have a great time.
