The maitre d' was so happy to see us. He was very welcoming and repeatedly said how happy he was to see us! I have never experienced that before. He gave us a table by the window. We were able to see the flurries and the people going by. Our waiter was friendly, patient, and courteous. He answered our questions and chatted with us for a bit. Next block from Park Central hotel, a must. My friend & I shared a divine beet salad + salmon. A loaf of garlic bread - yum. And had room for dessert - limoncello pie! Cold night - hot tea was good. Topped off the night with prosecco. Voila!
I like the vibe of this place. It's upscale, but not stuffy. The feed is good, but some dishes could be better. I wasn't impressed with the crab cake I had. The sauces for the dancing shrimp are absolutely excellent. My husband enjoyed his Frutti de mare. Food was delicious. Some inique and some really flavorful and a delight. Impeccable service. Good wine. Comfortable seating. Fabulous atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more, and perfect for an evening at Carnegie Hall as it's directly access the street.
