Dr Rutherford replaced my hip several years ago and is now helping me navigate through the options for arthritic knees. He is an enormously talented surgeon and up-to-date on all the advances in treatment and surgery. He is compassionate, kind, listens carefully, and advises fully and helpfully in a pleasant, clear, conversational way without evident time pressure. Dr. Rutherford performed total knee replacement surgery on my right knee. I chose Dr. Rutherford for his sterling reputation as an expert and leader in the field. From our first meeting, Dr. Rutherford proved to be twarm, houghtful, patient, and willing to answer my questions. The surgery was successful, and Dr. Rutherford has continued to provide a high level of care during the post-operative phase. I give him my highest rating.

Dr. R took time to really listen to what was going on and didn’t just try to put my knee issues in a box like the other orthopedic doctors have. I have a better understanding of why I’m having the pain I have and we developed a strategy based on what I wanted instead of just throwing injections at me.
I’m a 78 yo male with hip pain. I wasn’t able to enjoy life as I wanted. My first visit with Dr. Rutherford was great. He asked a lot of questions, seemed very interested in my problems and offered a treatment that would help me get my mobility back. It worked! I can now walk without pain and I’m looking forward to doing all the activities I’ve been missing….but maybe not playing soccer again too soon.
Staff were helpful. Dr Rutherford explained my condition in detail as well as my options. He is very knowledgeable & a good communicator. When it’s time to do my knee replacement, I will arrange my surgery with him.
I could not be more pleased with Dr. Rutherford and his entire staff. Dr. R. explained everything so well and with compassion. Luckily I don't need a hip replacement, but when and if I do, he will be the one I go to.
