The visit was to determine the condition of my left hip. Dr. Rutherford had previously replaced my right hip. He explained that although the condition of this hip was different, he still recommended replacement. I have scheduled the surgery for January 25.
That he knows his knees. He told me what was wrong and how to try to help the pain.
Excellent communication. Takes all the time necessary to develop trust in his skill, my concerns and the surgical procedure and outcome.

He explains in layman's terms to be sure you understand any procedure being done and what the follow-up care entails. He is compassionate, easy to talk to and puts you at ease with his humor. I have complete trust in his skills as a surgeon and as an attentive human.
Dr. Rutherford listens to your situation and understands your needs. He is an excellent doctor.
