I was called at 7:53am CST on March 3rd, 2025. Caller hung up when I answered. I returned the call and got someone, not sure who it was, but I was pretty aggressive with them because they're a mortgage company of some sort reaching out to people prior to 8am on a SUNDAY. The employee and I exchanged words, he told me to kick rocks, and that the unemployment line was open. I began the refinance process in November with Royal United. Everything was going well and I had all of my paperwork submitted and awaiting finalization. Holidays came around and I hadn't heard anything about finalization from RU. First of the year comes and I start calling and emailing. I was able to get a hold of my loan processor one time and was told the administrative department was still on holiday. Do not use this company. I applied for a refi/1st mortgage and the original loan quoted was for 200k, I was looking to pay off some debt and do a renovation to my property before the sale. I sent them all documents they asked for within 24 hours and paid for an appraisal ($500) which came in higher than expected. Then they told me they may have to lower my loan amount due to DTI which I said was fine and asked for an updated quote, option 2 was that if I got a co-signer I could potentially get the 200k. This company is awful, I've done a lot of loans over the years and the highly aggressive sales tactics from this loan officer were very concerning. They immediately tried to get my payment information and it's all they seemed to care about.

I started the process with Royal United Mortage and they did a hard credit check, which came back 750+. They then asked me for a lot of other information to be sent by phone. They forwarded me to a loan person who was Kristy Storm, Executive Loan Advisor. After I sent in my information - no response. Even follow up by me, no response. After 2 weeks, some manager called me and I explained the situation and he said he would follow up regarding my information within a certain time of the day - I waited and then nothing from him... read more

Financed a purchase with them, after a Lending Tree referral. Everything seemed to be going along well, supplied them information as requested. Borrowing 40% of the value of the home. Then 1st closing date rolls around and they have a problem with underwriting, can't get it done. Extend a week, they hadn't ordered the condo report, which a third party produced, and couldn't do so in the time left. Have to extend again.
