I received a phone call from my mother-in-law early this morning as she was very distressed. She said that there had been a minimal number of staff on duty last night and they appeared to be struggling to meet demands. In recent weeks she has reported waiting for a very long time to be assisted with personal care, has missed out on drinks and has not had medication/cream applied to her legs. This was my wife's 3rd short respite stay at Rush Court. Lovely setting, good amenities, nice room, caring staff and good food. However, the home feels under-managed with disorganised discharge, missing items (subsequently located) and an apparent lack of effective procedures. Laundry return is very haphazard and my wife has returned with items that do not belong to her. The management team seem rather office-bound and would be more effective if their presence was more obvious and with a higher profile.
