Had dinner with a number of business friends. The steak was outstanding as was the service. I go back again and again if we lived in Calgary. It was simply a great dining experience and would recommend to anybody looking for a great steak in downtown Calgary!
We have eaten at the Saltlik in Banff and had a wonderful experience, so we were excited to take our family to the Calgary location. The food was all extremely salty. Had to send two steaks back for being undercooked. Another came with so much fat on it that a lot was inedible. Portion sizes were good, vegetables were cooked to perfection, except for the salt. We expected a much better dining experience based on past experience and the price.
Very good experience overall, very good food, amazing flavor, only negative was the Hunter Chicken dish was quite slim on the amount of mashed potatoes.
I have taken many clients to Saltlik before and had many business meetings there. Generally the service is good. Unfortunately, this time the Manager excused the kitchen about 6 times for being overwhelmed due to a large group. Strange thing is the restaurant was half empty. One large group does not equal reason for being as slow as the service was from the kitchen. Food was good and service pleasant - just super slow.
Service was actually faster than I'd like. Didn't finish the beer before dinner came. Didn't think to say that. Noise level moderately high.

The service was exceptional. We were seated quickly and immediately we had our server ready to take our drink orders. Our server followed up on Gluten Free concerns with a menu item choice and was quick to return with a response from the chef. The food was delicious.
Went to Saltlik for Mother's day brunch because it was advertised as such. However, it was simply a menu containing selected dinner items. We were looking for brunch fare instead of entre steak meals. Steak was tough. Service was slow. Would go back unless it was for dinner.
Went for Mother's Day, they had a great 3 course menu on for a good deal. The food was excellent. They forgot one of the side items but offered to bring it right away, instead they gave us a free dessert.
