Having come to this restaurant in the past I was again pleased wiht the friendly, welcoming and service oriented staff. I must say I was let down by the food this time. The steak was just that, a steak, nothing special nowhere close to a WOW. For a steak specialty restaurant I would expect a WOW - at $30+ I have that expectation. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the meat was excellent. One of the best I've had in Calgary.
The server had just 4 tables and all the other staff were coving for her. I ordered med rare steak, it came rare and I was never given the chance to get this corrected.
The food was good but the service was just ok. I did expect better service and attention. Thanks!
A group of us went for lunch at Saltlk during a weekday lunch hour and the service was extremely slow. It took over 30-40 mins for us to receive our food, which was fairly mediocre.
Over a busy lunch hour - service was slow and the noise level was high.
I only ordered the "Hand Pressed All Chuck Burger" for the advertised "3 year aged cheddar and thick cut bacon". I was disappointed to discover that I got a burger with havarti (I think) and NO bacon! When I asked about the bacon (even though I was also disappointed in not getting the aged cheddar), I was told that they could bring it out right away. Went out in the evening with some friends for a few drinks and a good meal. Our server was very accommodating and he made the experience a delight. The only thing that we noticed was that the evening menu is a little bit pricier than the lunch menu however we generally had a great time, with great food and a great atmosphere. I know I will come back again.
we brought some clients in for lunch and the quality of the food was outstanding. the only issue was service was just ok... never received a spoon with cream and sugar for coffee, servers did not know what was gluten free and what was not.... took about 10 minutes to find out (maybe was only 5 minutes but felt like 10 with clients waiting)... kindness of server, ambience and taste of food made up for the average service. all is good and we will be back.
