The food was mediocre to be honest, I had the steak for lunch and it could've very well been one that I cooked myself at home.
Overall the food was good - however for a steakhouse, I would have liked to see more steak options on the menu, and less chicken and fish options. For example - a nice steak salad or sandwich.
Excellent gluten free options. Lobster potatoe skins, spicy tamari rib starters, deep fried calamari. Awesome dinner!!
My mom, sister-in-law, and I had a impromptu girl's night downtown. None of us had ever visited Saltlik before but we will definitely be back! We ate family-style sharing the tuna nicoise, lobster stuffed skins, mushroom soup, and finished up with an amazing toffee cake. Our server was very attentive and knowledgable and everything on contributed to a great meal
The steak is great, but the service needs improvement. Servers should bring water w/o clients having to ask. A little bread would be nice as well. Servers should have knowledge of what is available - beers, wine and even the types of teas were not known. Servers should come back to see how clients are doing - refill water more frequetly. Overall, food is good, but service is relatively poor given the price point. However, this is a general theme in Calagry - perhaps they should model themselves after Scottsdale, AZ.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Saltlik in Calgary. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially with wine and appetizer choices.The steaks were cooked just the way we asked and we really enjoyed the energetic feel of the restaurant. We would definitely recommend it and we would return on our next visit.
More like a high end burger joint than a nice steak house. Adequate but not special. Servers are nice and friendly but not knowldegable about the food.
At the time we booked the reservation we mentioned that we had a theatre date and had one hour to spend in the restaurant. The food and the service were outstanding and we made it to the event on time! We look forward to our next visit and spending spending more time at Saltlik.
VERY noisy restaurant...much beyon "energetic", well into "the noise level is driving me crazy" zone. Food good, service great...don't know how the stay sane in that din.
