RecommendedWe recently adopted a rescue that is the Sweetest but not dog socialized. In just a few days these wonderful people have worked with our girl and continue to work with her to help her learn to greet and play with other dogs. I am so impressed with their dedication and kindness and genuine care for all the dogs. I am grateful to have found Shag Bark and would recommend them to anyone looking for a Great place to help with their 4 legged family member.
Amazing place. my dog sits by the car just wanting to go daily to daycare. Jamie and the staff there are so wonderful. They go above and beyond with all the fur babies. I love the overnights and spa too. Having a fussy dog, she is always in great hands at Shag Bark.
Update from my previous review: a manager called to apologize and also to assure that their policy is to call the owners if they notice anything irregular on a dogs initial exam, although they did not do so. The staff also did not bring this to our attention when we picked him up or note it on his “Report Card”. Due to the lack of notification, we feel the injury was neglected throughout Bruce’s four day stay. Just picked up our dog from here and he has a huge gash on his nose! We called to see what happened and they told us that he had it when we came in... as if we wouldn’t have noticed this! Definitely not taking our dog back and would really like a better answer as to where this came from.
Our two labs love Shagbark for daytime play, boarding when Mom & Dad aren't home as well as the doggie spa!
After taking my American Pit Bull Terrier to puppy classes there where he was very successful, the staff recommended day care for socialization as he develops. When I called to arrange day care for my 9 month old puppy, not only was it nearly impossible to get ahold of someone since they never answer their phone, I was denied because they said this breed plays too rough, and he would not be allowed to attend. We took our dogs to Shag Bark Pet Retreat & Spa over Easter weekend and I was very pleased with how they cared for my "Kids". They were very organized when we dropped them off. I love that they posted pics of our dogs on their Facebook page. We even got a report card on how they did. Will definitely lodge there again!!
Miko always look very happy in every photo while here for daycare. Shag Bark does a great job.
Our very high energy terrier/Dalmatian mix, Bruno, attends doggie daycare a few times each week and he literally squeals, smiles, and jumps with excitement even at the mention of doggy daycare. Our other Shar Pei pup, Maya, has also visited as well for a few puppy play dates and overnight boarding and loves the one on one attention she receives from the people. Their facility is clean and I really love seeing photos each day. They love our pups and treat them like their own. I highly recommend Shag Bark to all.
