I was nervous about the consultation because I had only heard of this from an internet ad and since I’m extremely shy/self conscious it wouldn’t have been unlike me to never have walked in to my appointment. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I had hoped for. My nurse did not have the best bedside manner, and made a situation where I was already nervous that much worse. Every question I asked, or trying to make small conversation to distract myself, she was short and snippy in her responses and had some unkind opinions she wasn’t afraid to share. She was wonderful when the surgeon was present, and I adored my surgeon, Dr. G- but my whole experience was pretty clouded by the treatment I received from my nurse sadly.
After being told at my recent consultation that I would be waiting an additional 45 min to be seen (ended up waiting about 15-20 min past my appointment time), I wasnt feeling too confident about the process. But when Liz called me to the back and proceeded with the consultation, she really put me at ease. She apologized for the wait as well.
