This hospital is subpar! The CNA and the psychiatric staff were horrible! I wouldn't send my worst enemy there!
Hospital did nothing..... social worker was a joke. Sent my brother out and on discharge wrote discharged depressed and lonely. never followed up with BID in Plymouth for his clothes so discharged with hospital clothes and nothing on his feet. we had to drive to Plymouth and get his clothes. been 2 weeks and told she'd follow-up with sober house. no calls or follow up. will not return our calls even from the new social worker he has... if you have a loved RUN far away from Southcoast Behavorial.......... should be closed dow... read more
My son was there and the nurse practitioner Ryan said he was going to fill out the DMH application and was going to sign him to an outpatient program before my son leaves and never did and we called him several times to speak with him and left messages but never called us back unprofessional behavior as a professional NP .
My son was shaking and scared for his life because of the kids there fighting, yelling, screaming ...and he said it gets much worse. He told me the staff lets things happen. Terrible food. Difficult to sleep because the beds are filthy. My son saw a girl get her head cracked open by another girl while at the facility. The kids there are the worst of the worst. This place needs to be shut down. Their website is completely false. The kids had advocate for therapy sessions. My daughter came out worse than ever. We had to file a police report for a horrible incident that happened to my child. Do not send your child here! The hospitals need to stop referring adolescents to this facility!!! Absolutely atrocious. There would be a negative star option
I've been here a few times. i was isolated and without much human contact. it caused me to be mildly delusional. they put me on drugs that caused me to sleep most of the day and gain a great amount of weight. i was on them off and on for many years. i am now severely obese and close to 300 pounds. they have been doing this to me for over ten years. similar things happen to many of the patients there. obesity, related health problems including diabetes, and other health problems that include gynecomastia are some side effects... read more
Possibly the worst place to ever send a child. I have called over 9 times to speak with someone about my daughter and never even got a call back. Do not send your child to this place, nurses are rude and social workers are useless.
My child temporarily lived with his grandparents. I gave his grandparents temporary guardianship so they could enroll him in school and get him to doctor visits. I still have full sole/legal custody of my son. The doctor would not call me to consult with me, gave him lithium and depakote without my concent among other things. Had someone close to me receive treatment here- If you can avoid receiving care here, or you can keep family members out of here- I strongly advise that you do so- I do this as someone with a level of experience in healthcare and mental health. Got good insurance, well educated on your heath, can advocate for yourself, and want to be there for your mental health care? You'll probably be okay here like you would most places.
