Staff was very engaged with residents. There were activities: many as simple as a movie & ice cream so all levels of mem care residents could enjoy. Some activities were a bit higher-level like bingo or card games. Staff decorated for any & all occasions (which really helps mem care residents keep track of time). (Staff members were definitely NOT spending all their time zoned-out on their phones.) The memory care part is a small facility, they don't have many residents. We needed a home for my FIL that he would be comfortable in and have lots of activities. He had no desire to do activities but now that he’s been there a few months, we can never find him because he’s busy! The staff is great and we truly appreciate everything they do. I highly recommend Summer Vista!
Starting to do the renovations at Summer Vista. Great educational experience on the tour. Much needed information on assisted living & what the building had to offer. The stuff seems to really like take care of the residence at this location. Blocked.
Our family had an in person tour with the Summer Vista community and we thought it was a very nice tour experience. With everything we saw, and the different staff we met with, it was one of our top choices.
I would give them a 10 if I could. The gentleman who led our tour was awesome - give him a raise! He was so thorough and informative. We were very happy with the tour and the community. My loved one simply preferred another location. But Summer Vista seemed like a great choice!
I would highly recommend Summer Vista. I like that my loved one is free to roam around, and she gets the extra care that she needs.
I wouldn't recommend Summer Vista to anyone who doesn't have access to another source of in-home nursing care. Though the facility has a 24 hour nurse on the property, response time has been slow. Once, my parent waited for a nurse, during an emergency overnight, for over 2 hours. Several days later, we waited for 45 minutes for one of the med techs to respond to a lanyard call button.
