They serve a varied menu of generously-portioned comfort food. It's the kind of place you can bring your kids, your colleagues or your mom and never be disappointed.
Frankly nothing special. On a Friday night, party of 3. Service was polite and accurate, but very slow. Food was appropriate temperature and pretty decently prepared but.... Underwhelming. A bit boring. I didn't feel slighted, but I don't get the hype either. Especially when there are so many other great places nearby.
The gluten-sensitive options were appreciated by my guests, and the staff was kind to allow us to remain at our table to talk for a long period during a weeknight visit. I'd recommend for a group with diverse food/diet needs and desires.
Our service was amazing, Tiana and Urban were pleasant and everything moved quickly. We had breakfast this time,I've had dinner previously, I did prefer dinner over breakfast but it was good.
Great selection of food, small selection of beer (they did have a full bar) but what selection they did have was good. Service was good, great meal for a good value. Especially in DC. The surrounding neighborhood was very quaint with really interesting architecture but the walk from the subway was a bit sketchy near the metro.
Went for dinner and I had breakfast. Not many vegetarian options. Hash browns are like IHOP’s if you like those, you’ll like Ted’s. I had to substitute meat with fruit and still pay the same price. No veggie sausage or bacon here. Pancakes were normal pancakes. He wasn’t impressed. Husband had fish and chips and said there was more batter than fish. Overall it was just ok.
Everything was great, food and service included. Only disappointment was the homemade pop tarts deserts. They were dry and really skimped on the filling.
Ted's is awesome. The food and service cannot be beat. Meals are reasonably priced.
A must to visit if you are coming to Washington DC. The food is wholesome, some is old fashioned and reminds me of my childhood. Desserts are decadent and beautiful. Be sure an try the 4 layer carrot cake. You will not be disappointed.
