Worked their for 3 years. Very clean and spacious with heavily cleaned facility all around. they would order food on holidays for staff and provide drinks and snacks in break room. Had my own locker to my self for work equipment. Plenty of barking dogg stuff from sweatshirts to hats shirts equipment such as short leads. dogs had great time playing my whole experience. They were good therapy. I was attendant and cleaner. good pay and benefits. A whole dog course and online account provided to learn and apply new skills about ... read more

After enrolling my two dogs online, I called and spoke to a staff member because my male is not neutered and I didn't see any details on their website about this (I always like to check). The woman I spoke with said that for intact males, their management would decide after a daycare evaluation what level of play interaction they could have (we've never had ANY problems). I bring my dogs in to drop them off on evaluation day, and the woman then let me know that they actually have a strict policy where they don't accept una... read more

Business response:

Jenny, thank you again for your feedback and I'm so sorry we failed you in properly communicating our policy. We always welcome opportunities to better serve our pet parents, and I am working diligently with our host team to ensure this doesn't happen again. I left you a voice message with my contact information if you would like to speak to me, but I'm very happy to hear you found a place for your pups! - Rose, General Manager

I unfortunately had to board my dog while traveling on business (I usually leave her with someone as she is a bit shy). When I picked her up she smelled like poop and I was informed she had had an accident (which is unlike her). I carried her to the car and when I got home she was limping badly. I called to see if something had happened and they said nothing that they were aware of. I also inquired about the accident and they said she hadn’t been eating for 2 days and had had diarrhea. I was not informed at the time of pick ... read more

After having a good experience Feb 2020, where they told me Monty did well. I emailed for reservation to board my dog in Jan, 2021 for a mid Feb stay. The response was "No Problem and shall we schedule the extra play times same as last time?" I emailed to confirm a few days before and was shortly contacted that they will not board my dog. At least I have a day to scramble ......

Business response:

William Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you about your experience. I’m so sorry we failed you in communication, as this is not our standard. Your feedback is an opportunity for us to learn and become stronger. It breaks my heart that we can’t meet the level of care needed for your pup, but if you ever want to take me up on my offer to use one of our other 2 facilities, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you, and take care.

I took 12 hours to write this post so I would calm down. I will also be sharing it with the 1400 people I have on my Facebook and Instagram and Twitter. Yesterday my 15 year old son and I pulled up to pick up our dog from being boarded last week at The Barking Dog in Derry, NH. My son and I were watching the dogs in the play area and he asked if Bauer was out there and I said no and we continued to watch the dogs. We then saw a man (couldn't tell who it was at the time because of a tree blocking the upper half of this person... read more

My mother’s dog has gotten sick every time he has come. He’s gotten skin infections , severe intestinal issues, and canine flu. When calling to talk to someone to see if there were any other cases, the “manager” yelled and then hung up on them... when they should have shown a little compassion and concern for the pets health. I’ve managed an animal hospital and would deal with boarding facilities all the time, covering bills and even calling to check on pets we would care for after boarding; never have I seen a boarding faci... read more

We picked up our two dogs yesterday from The Barking Dog and immediately knew something was off with both of them. I called EVERY day while we were away and they said everything was fine not to worry! As soon as we got home, one of my dogs vomited three times. The other dog had an issue with his paws and now has active blood in his runny stool. I’m pretty sure his paw pads were burned as they were the pinkest/reddest i have ever seen. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning. This place is unprofessional! Barking Dog, the... read more

We are VERY happy with Rudy being at daycare. We can already see that his socialization skills are improving! Thank you for taking such good care of him and seeing the video of him interacting with other dogs AND his tail wagging melted my heart!!
