These guys were excellent - I can't imagine how it could have gone any better. We first got an estimate from their sales person (he was able to give to us on the night he saw the site)- we then decided to change the layout slightly and he got us an updated estimate within a a few hours. Once we got the permits and the job started, the comany's Project Manager (Gail) got in contact - she was terrific --- when hiccups came up along the way (as always happens with construction) she was on top of it and got it sorted out. My experience can be summed up in a simple sentence - You get what you pay for. Basic Basement was by far the lowest priced contractor we had by more than half. We were getting estimates to refinish our basement in the 40-50K range. All we wanted was some walls and floors and Basic Basement provides just that. They make money on volume. Let me start by saying I was dreading finishing my basement. I actually considered moving to avoid it. We had a great experience with Basic Basements. My wife and I were clueless about how to design the basement and how to estimate costs. Two other independent contractors did little to help us think through the best design for our space, and quoted us costs of $25,000 to $30,000! We found Basic Basements through a Val-Pak coupon we received in the mail. We had a fantastic experience with Basic Basement. As soon as we contacted the company, I was called and an appointment was made. The sales rep, Dan, came out at a convenient time and measured and explained everything to me. He sent a quote right away and provided a layout. The PM's, Gail and Bob, kept us informed and took care of all the details - my permit was approved by the township in a few weeks! This was my first remodel experience, and I was somewhat terrified based on stories from friends. I was really pleasantly surprised by my experience with the basic bathroom company; the final product was beautiful, there were no unexpected costs, the workers were timely and courteous, and the overall budget was at least a few thousand less than any other offer I got. <br /> As stated, this was my first remodel experience, and this is not subject matter I am experienced in.
