Your firm needs to be up front with clients as to what docs will be needed. Make a checklist & give it to the client right away. Advise them that there will be a LOT of back & forth even though they are told "we have everything" but we just need "2 more things", etc. Staff needs to be more competent on being able to review docs provided by clients & understand that not every transaction is as simple as a W-2 income. Self-employed businesses move money back and forth. Not everyone is a crook!

I have sent clients to the mortgage firm on several different occasions and each time my clients were ready to walk away from the deal due to the pending process being a nightmare. Thank goodness none of them actually walked, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that they would have if I hadn’t of talked them out of it. I’m not sure why things seem to be so complicated at TMF but it seems no one takes responsibility for what happens. I usually don’t leave a bad review for anyone but...
