I finally found an office that cares for their patients! The front desk girls were nice, my encounter with them was brief. The office is very modern and clean. Nancy Gail the X-ray tech was AMAZING! So warm and compassionate, really made me feel comfortable, and with 40 years of experience, she totally knew what she was doing. Aidna the dental hygienist gave me the best cleaning I've ever had, was so knowledgeable and didn't mind all my questions! My first time visiting this office! First let me compliment the cleanliness! The office was sparkling and had a nice scent too it! Unlike most offices! The staff greeted me as soon as I walked in. I'm overall very impressed with this office! I also liked that the equipment was up to date and the staff was extremely knowledgeable.. and they don't know I have a background in dental assisting. Due to covid, I haven't seen a dentist in 2 years. My insurance doesn't offer many options, but I am glad that I chose the smilist. I have a terrible toothache and they saw me within 24 hours. The office is clean, modern, and bright. Nancy, the hygienist is Excellent. She spent 45 minutes with me. She is gentle and thorough. The dentist who finally saw me spent 5 minutes with me and was rough as he examined my teeth. Very unhelpful, but I will definitely go back for Nancy.

I love my dentist. My family has been going here for a number of years. They are easy on your mouth when doing any dental work and the hygienist that do the cleaning are wonderful. I have no plans on changing to any other dentist that is for sure.

The dentistry is great...and painless! The hygenist and doctors do a fantastic job in the Shelter Island office. I would give five stars, but I always arrive promptly, but usually have to wait 10-15 minutes to go in. My appointment today was for a previous appointment that was cancelled by the office in mid-April. Today was the first available appointment (5-25-2017) they had on Shelter Island in four weeks! I had an extremely disappointing experience here and feel compelled to warn others. This place is owned by a private equity firm, and it shows. They're clearly more interested in profit than patient care. I came in with an issue, and they immediately told me I needed an implant and multiple surgical procedures that would have cost thousands. Something didn't feel right, so I went to a trusted private dentist for a second opinion. He fixed my tooth in 30 minutes with no implant, no surgery, no drama. Do everything you can to avoid seeing Dr. Bridget Petersen. She will shame you for having Medicaid and essentially make you feel worthless that you should be happy being seen by anyone, don't dare ask questions or stick up for yourself with subpar treatment or she will gaslight you by saying, "You're being rude. Sit down." I was treated like a child by her for simply trying to clarify what a treatment was.
