What matters most when you leave your loved one to be cared by others are those people. Victoria, Antoinette, Ambrosia, Debra and everyone else are the most caring and loving type of people you could ask for. My father has been treated with kindness and love. I can't recommend The Terraces at Via Verde enough.
Referring my mother to The Terraces was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. Vicky, Deborah and Ambrosia are some of the most sincere people I have had the pleasure to meet. They were nice enough to give me a tour before I made the decision and I must say, this place is amazing. My grandmother means the world to me. When it was time to enroll her in assisted living, I had to make sure that she got the best quality of care available. The Terraces at Via Verde offers just that, the absolute best! After meeting the staff, I immediately felt as if I had known them for my entire life. Ok, I've waited a few days to post this review, but after reading the 3 reviews before this, they are suspect at best. All made around the same time, and very little real info. We moved my mom into the Terraces, almost a year ago. When we first moved her in there, it seemed really nice, loving and dignified. The management and caregivers, really cared, and showed my Mother, so much love, and care. The place was clean, upbeat, and fun for the residence in their care. In my opinion, while superficially attractive, The Terraces suffers from poor management and chronic understaffing. Consequently, in my opinion, it fails to provide residents, including my loved one, proper care and safety. After 8.5 months of unsuccessfully advocating for safety and proper care, we moved my loved one to a different community.
Hire quality staffing, even the director. Blood-born illnesses are serious, and staff should be well aware of pathogens. Housekeeping staff is at best "half-assed". Anytime a relative has to ask to have dried feces,blood, removed from a bathroom floor and wall(s) something is woefully wrong, as in "closed by Los Angeles County Public Health". The owners should examine the practices that are "common" here. Pretty scary.
Please talk to family members of residents if you are considering putting a loved one in this facility. Have not received honest answers and full transparency regarding medications and care given. Nuff said
