At the age of 74, I have had a number of real estate closings both as a seller and buyer. Without question, my experience with Touchstone was the absolute worst. There were a number of communications throughout process regarding items that should not have been an issue and a waste of my time. However, the most serious unprofessional and unethical action of the attorney was to add an additional $500 charge on the final closing disclosure document WITHOUT informing me. That is unacceptable. When my husband and I were going through the process of buying our home, they were prepared, efficient and thorough, explaining every and any question we had. They were also accommodating to our family as we had our infant son with us and he (of course) needed to be fed right when we had to sign documents. We appreciate them respecting the process and our time.
This was not a good experience. The details of our closing price were wrong on both the P and S and in the closing documents. The amount to go to the realtors was wrong. There was no attention to detail. Additionally, I did not feel that our lawyer attempted to protect us against additional addenda that the buyer's agent kept adding. I was encouraged to just sign as is or accept the other terms without any negotiation.
