My daughter was here last year for roughly 4 months. She has been struggling with mental health issues for a long time, since experiencing a death of someone very close to her several years ago. After several acute psychiatric hospitalizations, numerous psychiatrists, and therapists I thought it was finally time she needed more help then what she was currently getting. My overall experience was very good. The staff was very helpful anytime I needed anything. The only issue I have is with the medical staff. They're lazy and very incompetent. They called DHR over a rash and they took two months to get my daughter her clothes they left in a cabin after they switched her cabin, but other than those two incidents I was very pleased.
A wonderful place to work, grow, connect and heal. 🙏 would highly recommend Village to any parent with a child who may be struggling. Therapists are wonderful, and all of the staff will genuinely love your child like their own and will help them find their balance.
I don't get why there are so many negative reviews. I went there about three or four years ago I was about 14 I think I was in there for five months and got an early discharge due to insurance reasons but anyway I was in both maple and oak cabin and honestly out of the four institutions I've been to this was was the best and helped the most. My nephew was a patient here for 3 1/2 months and I will say it takes a lot to run a facility with high turnover rates and to deal with children with several behavior struggles as well as alcohol use or even history of self harm. I myself am a social worker and work mental health so I see several behavior daily in my line of work, but never have been to a facility like this that is poorly managed not to mention what I was told on how my nephew was treated at the facility if I could give it a negative star I definitely would.... read more
