Village Healthcare: An absolute NIGHTMARE of a rehab hospital. I just returned home after a two week stay there after knee surgery. This was the only place the hospital could find for my after care. Here goes.... 1) The FOOD; , if you can call it that, is provided by Sysco. Sysco is a enormous food manufacturer that churns out the cheapest and least nutritious food for hospitals and nursing homes that want to bring down their food budget to nothing. My Mother was at Village. Frankly I would not want to see my worst enemy there. Everyday I talk to my Mother and everyday I would ask her if her hearing aids were in. No, I think they are in a safe or something. One morning I talked to the staff and told them I wanted her hearing aides in when I called her. They were not in. I called the nurses station again. They are short handed and also do not communicate with the family when there are problems. My step mom had a fall one evening and I was not contacted until morning. She ended up having brain surgery because of the fall. Also the family was given 2 different stories regarding the fall.
