My optometrist referred me to Dr Reiss as I was having issues with my peripheral vision and found to have a retinal detachment. His bedside manner was great and although I was very nervous he helped me stay calm. The surgery was painless and went perfect and my vision was saved. Thank you so much as I owe my vision to you!
Unfortunately I had a very negative experience with this surgeon. He had very little if any compassion for my situation. He did not care that it was possible I would be legally visually disabled if I had the surgery he insisted was "absolutely necessary". His bedside manor with a 60 year old woman was unacceptable . It's okay to be matter of fact but I was threatened with things a person in his position has no business suggesting. It’s not so much Dr Mandiga who was ok - it’s the office. Be prepared to wait well over 2 hrs. We were then referred to a cornea specialist and were told they made an appt. for us the next day. The next day we showed up for the appt and we weren’t on the cornea specialists appt book. Just expect inefficiency, a rude receptionist and a VERY LONG wait.
