I have had the same vet for 30 years and she was amazing. She retired and I really worried about finding someone like her. It is hard to trust someone new. I first used Windrose for Urgent Care and had a really good experience. I recently took one of my dogs for his yearly visit. Dr Johnson was kind and took her time with him. I was concerned about my 10 year old chinchilla and wanted her seen ASAP. They were extremely helpful on the phone and were able to get us in immediately. The facility was clean, welcoming, and staffed with compassionate professionals. The exotics vet was truly chinchilla savvy (not common) and provided quality care. An estimate outlining individual costs was presented before the exam. Every staff member was kind and accommodating. This is my recommended small mammal vet in the Pittsburgh area
My pup was bit on the face on a Saturday. When all other vets were either closed or redirecting us to an ER, we found Windrose online. The wound was not life threatening but we knew it needed care. Windrose was not only open until 8pm on a Saturday, but was also able to provide urgent care needs. They saw us immediately and took care of the wound. We didn't have to wait hours at an ER. We were recommended to take our senior cat here for a dental cleaning and so far it's been a very positive experience! Upon entering the building, the staff was very friendly and welcoming! The doctor was gentle with my cat during his exam and went over his dental surgery thoroughly. I was a little nervous because he's an older guy, and I was stressing over him being under anesthesia, but she put us at ease with any questions we had and assured us he'd be well monitored. Thank you to Dr. Skalos and the nurses who worked with my Diane today to remove her mast cell tumor. She’s home and resting comfortably. Her incision looks wonderful. Scheduling was easy and the communication was A+. Fingers crossed that her histopathology comes back low grade ♥️
