This Absolute place is TERRIBLE. Dealing with a few Militaristic staff and other staff in general was HORRIBLE. They’d yell at you and make quarrels worse if you didn’t mean to misfail what you were supposed to do and it’s completely NOT APPROPRIATE dealing with kids that are Mentally I’ll who are TRYING TO HEAL. I was here for a month when I was seventeen, thirteen years ago, and I still have PTSD from my stay here. We were subject to verbal abuse, medical neglect, and encouraged to internalize blame and guilt for our disorders and things outside of our control like having depression or anxiety or PMDD. don't put your kids here if you actually want them to get them to get over trauma, the staff are abusive, there’s little to no therapy offered, and the “skills” they teach only work on parents willing to listen. the most depressed or suicidal i’ve ever been has been here, thanks for the extra trauma and taking 6 months of my life away youth care, i really appreciate it. This program was an absolute waste of time for our family. Our son is Autistic and we were assured that they would be able to sufficiently meet his needs by their admissions manager Elissa. This turned out to be completely false. The therapist we were assigned to is probably decent with neurotypical kiddos- but left much to be desired with our son. I was here when I was 15. I am now 21. This place messed me up. When I left I was worse than when I went in. It’s taken me years of trauma therapy to be okay. When I left, I was taken out by my parents against the wishes of the program, and that decision from my parents is the main reason I still have a relationship with them. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! My mom sent me here when I was 14 years old and I am 28 now and STILL have PTSD issues from being there. When I was 14 I saw staff kill an autistic 13 year old boy. His body was failing him and he was begging to go to the hospital but instead do you know what staff did? They put him in a room and locked it where he screamed bloody murder for hours begging for help till it was silent.. they didn’t check on him for over 8 hours after he was put in that room.
