The Zodiac MX8 Elite is one of the best pool cleaners we have owned. We are on our 2nd one. They run about $525 but with rebates around $400. The previous one lasted almost 4 years but we do leave our vacuum in the pool 24/7 so it runs at least 8-10 hours per day. We live in Florida with a salt water pool. They last much longer if you pull them out in between cleanings. On the last one, we only had to replace the rubber sweepers and the tracks, which you can replace yourself, very easy! I have a big older plastered concrete Pool with pop-ups. After a few years of constant expensive parts replacement and labor costs, I abandoned the struggle and purchased a vacuum cleaner. It was okay, but spent considerable time on its side. Recently replaced that with my Zodiac. This occasionally gets caught up on a pop-up, but overwhelmingly stays on mission. Pool looks great.

This vacuum works great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it doesn’t climb the stairs in my pool. It was also not fitting my skimmer without a small hose piece that needed to be bought separately. If I spend over $500, I expect to get every part that I need to use this vacuum. I ended up leaving off the white plug that goes into the skimmer because it didn’t fit. Works fine without it.

I absolutely love my MX8. It climbs the walls and cleans the waterline. It picks up leaves, sand, dirt and even small rocks that the birds drop in. I can't imagine anything working any better at any price.

I've owned a Zodiac MX8 for the past 5 years and it's been a great cleaner. It was a no brainer to replace it with the MX8 elite when it was time to purchase a new one. I leave my cleaner in my pool 24/7. I get great coverage, it's easy to replace worn out parts yourself, and the pool is nice and clean. I would very much recommend.
