We've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far, so good. I'm very pleased with the lower RPM that we can operate it at. About 2300 without a leaf canister and about 2400 without one. It goes right up that walls with no issues and covers the pool well.

If your cleaner's wheels make 10 rotations within 20 - 25 seconds, it is operating at optimal flow, congratulations! MX8 does great job, if only it didn’t get stuck on palm frond leaves, I love how it does the steep vertical walls.

This is my second purchase of an MX eight pool cleaner. I like The MX eight elite by zodiac extremely well. There is one flaw though and that it does not pick up acorns. I was also very disappointed in the high cost of replacement parts. In order to repair my first MX eight it would’ve cost me $350. That seems like a lot of money for several nylon gears.
