Not a fan of complex gear operated pool cleaners, but the MX8 was recommended by the pool replastering company with 50 years of experience. His suggestion was to run it at the slowest possible speed to reduce wear and still clean the pool. I have three live oak trees overhanging my pool, and it is leaft season. The MX8 is actually keeping up with the leaves falling into the pool ,and in combination with the cyclonic leaf trap is actually doing a good job keeping the pool clean (with some netting support). To help prevent the larger debris from jamming, remove the yellow debris inlet to widen the port on the bottom of the cleaner. This should allow larger debris to pass through. Great cleaner with great coverage for my 30,000 gallon pool. I had the MX6 in a smaller pool and loved it too but needed to go with the MX8 for my current pool.
