It works well but not great. It does not climb as well as I thought it would. Part of that problem maybe that both ends of the hose, where it connects to the wall adapter, and where it connects to the cleaner there is a slight leak. If I put my hand around the connection at those sites I can feel vacuum. Those adapters should be designed better so there is no leak. I find no leak at the connection between sections of hose. Overall, it is not a bad device but I think I could be improved.

the brushes need to be longer to scrub more and stiffer

The MX8 requires a lot of suction to climb the pool walls. I am not able to use the vacuum port in our pool because it does not generate enough suction. I have to connect the MX8 to the skimmer and close the main drain at least 50%. Once the suction is adjusted correctly the MX8 works great, but it is annoying to setup weekly.
