Awesome facility. The staff especially was kind, generous and very very good in assisting the patients. Liz checked me in with the biggest smile. I'm so happy to have spent 2 months there. The therapy I received there is what sustains me today. The staff were very knowledgeable....

Good friend of ours is recovering at the Kern River transitional care facility. A large clean beautifully maintained property. I went to the front desk, was greeted by a friendly attendant who directed me where I could find my buddy. He was just finishing up physical therapy. He's is much improved and very motivated to put the work in and get back home. The facility rooms all were very well maintained and clean. I was very impressed. I find this facility have well manners and patience for the amount of patients to be taking cared of on any shifts. Very clean and always in top of issues. Thank you for what you offer to those who reside at this facility. Great work from everyone.

Kern River Transitional Care was recommended to me because they have (and we needed for our family member) a strong physical therapy department. I now know this is a fact of the care offered. Nursing care also did not disappoint. Caring people doing their best. Skilled nursing with rehab can be a challenging experience for patients and families, confidence in the care makes it all easier. Strong leadership with high performance expectations for all staff is key to quality here. I recommend Kern River Transitional Car!

In March of 2025 I was rushed to my local emergency room. Fluid around my heart and lungs as well as pneumonia. Nasty body was toxic. After my extended stay, months, I was transferred to the Kern River Transitional Care in Bakersfield. To my immediate and wonderful surprise the staff at Kern River were more than professional. I had a fair to good experience at this facility. My LO, the actual patient, was very unhappy with the staff and their ability to respond to a call light. He also very much disliked the food. He was pretty much forgotten about in a private room. On my end, there was always having to follow up with Nursing with orders. It is a beautiful facility and was kept very clean. It doesn't have that traditional SNF smell.

Pros: I have been at the facility going on 3 months due to a fall. The nurses, CNA, staff, and mostly the physical therapists have been amazing. The physical therapists put everybody in a good mood, their upbeat attitude and care builds confidence. The PT team fit my routine to exactly what I needed and made adjustments to my therapy to help me keep and reach my goals. They had lots of fun activities for everyone to participate in! My elderly mom is getting great care at KRT! The staff has been great and caring. This is the third time she's been there and has bounced back every time. Some of the facilities that she has been, don't have the best of staff, it takes a special kind of person to do these jobs!

I have had a loved one in this facility since 2019. Overall the staff is amazing, going above and beyond for their residents/patients. Of course there are a few bad apples, but they never last long. The PT department staff is incredible and I truly believe they have helped my family member stay healthier than if they were not in this facility.
