I had the munchies and wanted to try 54th Street so I ordered calamari, kids fried shrimp and seasoned waffle fries with gringo dip. Queso and fries sounded good. Everything looked good when they arrived. Although, I wish I had more waffle fries to go with the queso since I had more queso than waffle fries. Everything was actually really good and now I want to go dine there to try more food. Calamari was definitely the star of the show. The dip that came with it muah chef's kiss. Definitely getting that again.
Let me say that we love 54th street here in San Antonio the service and the servers are great with that said me and a friend decided to go to 54th street here in Austin once we arrived we see that it's not very crowded great so then the hostess asks us how many people we say 2 she then proceeds to say "let me see if there are any available seats, huh, what, do you see what I see?" I've given this restaurant so many tries (like 6 or 7) because it's so close to our house, but I'm tired of there always being something wrong and will never be back. The time before this last time I said I wouldn't go again, but they gave me a gift card to make up for their mistakes so I figured I'd at least use that and hope they'd improved. Nope. Wanted to try something different so made the long trek to Pflugerville, right off 45, to 54th Street Restaurant & Drafthouse. We wanted to make happy hour but weren't so happy when they only have 'select' (COT) beers on HH prices. Nothing good in those select drafts, they leave the 'good' stuff at regular price. gave me chicken in a dish that wasn't supposed to have it (I don't eat meat) and I noticed too late because it was hidden under cheese also its overrated it's not that good
Ate here while on business, good food, plenty of servers. Extremely busy so there will be a wait for seating. Area in the back patio outside is open seating, so best to skip the front door and go in through the patio
Found this place while traveling. Had a house salad, better then average, had a avacado chicken sandwich, better then average, had the beans with brisket, ok, also a side of Cole slaw, I'd give that a 10, some if the best I ever had. For dessert, a woodford old fashioned. A very nice place to, go decor, nice atmosphere and I'd go back again....
We have given this restaurant so many chances, either the order is wrong or missing items. The only time this restaurant has ever gotten my order right was the first time I went there. Its disappointing that the people who are working in this place and the drivers who deliver the food just don't give a shit. Work ethic is at an all time low.
Was in the area and decided this was the the only normal looking place to eat in the immediate area. The outside of the restaurant looks really cool but the interior does not really match. Had a short wait as they said they needed to clean off some tables. They sat us in the center rather than clean the a booth, . We asked about the booth and we're told it would take another ten minutes to clean... The interior is ok but it really feels like it needs a deep clean.
