I have been a patient for years but they have recently changed their billing department, resulting in erroneous bills for standard cleanings that are covered by insurance. When contacted, they say to not worry or promise a call back but never do. But you will still receive automated text messages to the point they threaten action if not paid. Avoid the headache and this practice.

Terrible experience -- I would not recommend this orthodontist. I spent $5,000 on Invisalign, only to have my bottom retainer break in half after just one month. They repaired it and admitted it was made too thin. Then, two months later, my top retainer broke as well. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told it was "office policy" to charge $250 to replace it -- even though it was clearly another faulty retainer. Academy Dental has been very good to me for years ~ until THE SMILIST took over! I keep getting a bill reminder over and over again (10 time now). The latest one says, "you have 48 hrs to pay this bill" WTF ~ Academy dental tells me "I have no balance due" I have called THE SMILIST 4 times a different girl each time they all say, "it seems we are waiting on your insurance". We will get back to you! So far nobody has called back! Time to find me a new dental place! THE SMILIST SUCK BIG TIME!

Simply beautiful smiles ran this place into the ground. They just lost a long time, used to be happy, patient. They now bill whatever amount they want without any reason. There's no one to speak with on the phone about incorrect bills.

If your running late and trying to call to let them know your running late you won't get a live person just an answering machine...So if your late more then 10 minutes they will not take you but when there systems changed and they needed updated bank info they call right away with a smile. Bad business life happens and people run late sometimes and the bad part is when you try to reach out to let them know no one answers the phone!

If I could give 0 stars I would. have been here for 2 cleanings prior with no issues but the last visit has caused me to find a new dentist all together. I came in to have glue removed off the back of my teeth my a retainer that broke off my teeth. my first appt was made when the Dr was on leave so I took off work for no reason. I schedule a new appt (having to take off work again because of Dr hours) and this one also wasn't done correctly. I am so upset tonight with the dentist that pulled my 10 year old sons 85% healthy baby tooth out because a filling came out. I brought him in as an emergency visit a week ago and the dentist who seen him told me he can either walk around with the hole until it bothers him and the other option was to schedule him to have it pulled and that they don't generally refill a baby tooth. My entire family has gone here for many years and I've come to realize after switching to another practice that Academy Dental is good for check ups and that's pretty much it. 1- my daughter had a few dark spots on the surface of 2 teeth that were visible as soon as she smiled. It took 3 visits and for me to force my way into the exam room with her before they fixed it. This place is not welcoming AT ALL!!!..The dentists is a place that supposed to feel inviting.. Let me be clear, it's not the staff in the back or the Doctors, it's the cold, ignorant, uninformed, chatty,detached unprofessional (need more culture) training at the front desk ( which is the face of the office).
