I recommend 28 days for detox and rehab. It helped me to understand and learn about my addiction. It is a hospital setting and it did frighten a little in the beginning.
It may have not been the best at the time but when you are getting help from the state you know you go where they want you to. I hear it has changed since I was there. Whatever kind of rehab it was from what I learned it managed to keep me sober 28 years and bring up twins who are 31.
In-patient was pretty bad, just lots of regulars who keep detoxing over and over (suggesting maybe this program doesn't work for them). Outpatient is even worse. Don't bother, look up SMART Recovery and find your own way.
I liked my stay except for one nurse who wouldn’t let me do my weekly group at CTC methadone clinic. But Emily by far was the nicest!

Dietary department did not meet my needs as I am diabetic. Medications were nightmare.Poor communictios
Individual counseling sessions were the most beneficial part of this program for me.
I think regardless of who thinks what it is a group of positivity and helps all in come way.
I tried to buy a soda from the vending machine. The machine took my money and I did not get a soda. It seems there is no way to document my loss. Another patient said “That happens a lot.” I would like there to be an effective way to communicate with the vending machine operator. A sign up book at the nurses station perhaps.
