Get directionsThe detox was very helpful and the people were caring. The programming I found to be very lacking and some of the staff are mailing it in and seem very unprepared to run groups. Their should be smaller group work and back up plan besides just giving patients more time with their phones. More twelve step work and being diligent about asking people to not glorify the war stories of using. If a commitment doesn’t show up have the counselor run a meeting instead of just punt.

I never got any of my meds that I brought in. Non-narcotic too!
Now that I am in successful long term recovery I can clearly reflect on my experiences. I had tried all the local places for detox and some of the inpatient rehabs. I went to Adcare, Washburn, CHL, and Spectrum. Some of these experiences were horrifying. My experience at Adcare Worcester was not a good one. My medications were not administered correctly. Sometimes forgotten or the wrong dosage given. Lots of complaints from others feeling like they were rushed from the detox floor to the rehab floor. On the rehab floor your required to attend groups and when you are feeling sick that can be difficult. Groups were really difficult learning material and didn’t seem appropriate in early recovery. I can honestly say that adcare for the most part is a comfortable reasonable place. But when dealing with the medical staff you MUST be very clear about what you will have access too and when. I suffer from a terrible sinus condition that plagues my fathers side of the family relentlessly. I took in my own natural holistic spray “the only thing that helps”.
