Aka was an incredible experience! The food was so good and the ambience is the real star! So many people celebrating, having fun and vibing to the live DJ. This place really captured what the Gaslamp has been missing. Highly recommend Aka for a night out.

This place is what gaslamp quarter in San Diego needs Great vibe, ambiance, colors, and amazing design that makes you feel like you are in Singapore or somewhere exotic. The Yellowtail scallions and the Tai Miso snapper were so so good and perfectly balanced. The Potstickers so delicious to start. Wagyu drunken noodles perfectly seasoned. I had an incredible experience at AKA in the Gaslamp Quarter! This Asian fusion spot is an absolute gem, both in terms of atmosphere and food. The decor is striking—the 7-foot-tall Buddha statue makes such a cool statement, and the glowing red bar top creates a warm, inviting vibe that adds to the restaurant’s modern feel. Armando was a GREAT waiter! Decor is beautiful! I made a meal out of three appetizers (cream cheese wontons = AMAZING! Filet mignon dumplings = great! Chicken satay = ok) interesting cocktail menu. I ordered the horchata matcha cocktail… interesting but not great. Bar area was packed! I don’t eat seafood so I didn’t have a lot of options but I would definitely go back!
Overall an amazing establishment!!! Food ambiance and hospitality top tier!!!
Cool build out!! You’re going for the experience versus the food. Service was attentive until it got busy - then service fell off - delays of 5 - 15 minutes until server showed up again. Recommend going to see - wouldn’t go back.
