When I go out to eat, at least half the time it's for Thai. Been to lots is East Bay places. And Anchalee is the fave. It's a nice cozy pair of rooms, the service is good, parking is easy, but the reason to come here is the food. When I order dishes I know well, Anchalee often seems to come up with a twist- maybe a new ingredient-maybe a new presentation-that makes it stand out from other versions. Arrived a little past the lunch rush and had it was empty and quiet. Which I preferred! The place is cute and brightly lit with lots of light. The staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. I decided to order the Khao Soi lunch special and so happy I did! The curry was amazing! Packed with flavor! The chicken was also tasty and seasoned well. I left so full because the portion was generous.
Everything was delicious! Ordered tom kha soup gai, yellow curry with beef, chicken satay, curry puffs, and garden rolls. Portions were generous and fed 3 adults.
Excellent food - modern and clean ambiance in a small space and good service. Overall 5 stars. We tried satay + crying tiger + pad gra prow + catfish -- all were flavorful and reasonably priced for great quality food.
Delicious! Ordered Thai iced tea, pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, and massuman curry. Vibe was perfect for a little Sunday date night. Service was speedy and friendly. We will be back! Can accommodate a spice-loving and a non-spice-loving appetite. We both loved the meal!
Truly the most affordable, thoughtful, speedy, consistent caterer I've found in Berkeley. It's my go to for work events because they can facilitate gf/vegan/allergies so well! They can adjust spice level to be very mild or spicy. You just cannot beat the prices either. It's very 2015 pricing!!! Like go look for yourself. Anchalee the owner is such a gem of a human. She is so honest. When I over order, she literally says you won't need that much. The "small catering trays" are huge lol. Anyways go support this business plz!

Anchalee Thai sets the standard for Thai food. Fresh ingredients plus skilled cooking equals delicious tasting food. The decor is simple and service is efficient. This place is all about the flavors dear reader. Try the lettuce wraps, fresh spring rolls and corn salad - and marvel at the flavors. Fresh basil, mint, peppers and curry. The flavors simply explode! We loved how this place has a regular menu and a vegetarian menu. How can it get much better?! Enjoy.
