Anchalee continues to be my favorite Bay Area restaurant. The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and arrives quickly no matter how busy they are. The staff are all friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to requests. The special vegetarian menu is extensive and includes dishes that are hard to find in other Thai restaurants.
This is my go to Thai spot in Berkeley. I don't often eat inside but I love the brick walls here!
Anchalee Thai Cuisine was the lunch spot of choice. My friend shared that they enjoyed it and recommended we go once we get together. I met him on a weekday in the afternoon. The restaurant wasn't too busy; just a steady flow of customers coming in and out. The service was good, the water was refilled, and the food came out fast! The ambiance was very laid-back, with nice natural light and decor. We chose to share a few items. We got Popiah, Halibut Green Curry, and Pad Ke Mao. Everything was fine and good. However, I felt... read more
the Khao Man Gai Ginger chicken is really good. the rice is a bit dry but chicken very tender and flavourable. my friend recommend this place to me and i would love to try something different next time!
I've been loving this spot for years, Excellent, fresh, classic Thai cuisine. The food is always plated beautifully and the menu is traditional, doesn't changed often and consistently good. This is my favorite Thai place, just hate the parking! Weekend nights are terrible for parking, the food is still worth the pain!
Anchalee has upped its game again & the food is outstanding! As is the service and seating/atmosphere. Just so warm & welcoming, with a festive ambiance. We always order about 10 dishes between the 4 of us & happily take home leftovers! Our standards are: salad rolls, basil lettuce wraps, mango salad, corn salad, pad Thai, Green Curry, Masamam Curry, brown rice, chicken satay, yellow tofu curry. Love it ALL!! Ask for mild or medium if you don't want strongly spiced.
Amazing food. Cute place, wasn't busy on a Thursday night. Khao Soi was worth coming back for
Thai is definitely in my top 5 for favorite cuisines, and this is one of the best I've come across in the East Bay. We came in for lunch today and the food was delicious! We made a reservation since we were a group of 9, so we were seated right away. This restaurant is small, but it so cute and charming! We tried a lot of different dishes and there wasn't a dish we didn't like. The order: Fried Calamari, Crispy Tofu, Egg Rolls, Tom Kha Gai, Crab Fried Rice, House Fried Rice with Beef, Pad Thai with Shrimp, Pad Se Ew with... read more
The parking was difficult, but we managed. The decor, etc. was beautiful. The service was great. The food was fresh and colorful. HOWEVER everything was too effing spicy!! The menu indicated certain items were "medium" spicy, which would have been fine. Just to be sure, we asked them to tone that down to mild wherever possible. Yet, for me anyway, almost nothing we ordered was edible. YMMV. I guess that's a personal experience, but this was mine.
