I've been taking my dogs there since around 1980. The hospital is always clean and smells good. Dr Woodley does most of the care on our dogs by choice. Dr Rommel has seen our dog too and I would recommend her also. All the doctors there are good and the staff is the best.

I couldn't imagine a better place to take care of my animals. Every person I've interacted with at this hospital has been helpful, kind, and patient and their prices are extremely reasonable. It's nice to see my friends at work agree too. When I mentioned how great this animal hospital was they were like "Yeah! I know them! They're great!". They seem to have an established reputation in the area. I should mention too that they were originally recommended by some friends at the local Humane Society. I will continue to bring m... read more

I brought my dog to this clinic for what was diagnosed as a tooth abscess. During the night following that visit, her condition declined significantly. She developed labored breathing and was unable to lie down, which are serious and alarming symptoms. I called the clinic as soon as they opened, reported the labored breathing, and requested an immediate appointment. Despite explaining the urgency, I waited approximately 2 1/2 hours to be seen. During that wait, I called a second time to again report her breathing distress a... read more

The prices at Animal Hospital of Dunedin are not great, but I decided to make them my primary veterinary practice because they have Saturday hours. However, they use these hours to be dishonest and overcharge. I brought my dog in for a skin infection a few weeks ago. At this appointment, the vet I saw told me that I needed to update my dog's rabies vaccine too. However, she said that she didn't want to give him the vaccine that day because of the medications he was put on for his skin and because of his infection. The vet ... read more

We brought our dog in because he hadn't eaten for a day and seemed to have a mild stomach issue. Instead of starting with a simple, conservative approach, the veterinarian immediately ordered a long list of tests -- x-rays, bloodwork, and more. What actually helped was just the nausea medication and cough syrup, which could have been prescribed without all the extras. What should've been a roughly $300 visit turned into nearly $1,000. When I called to express concern, the owner simply said, "Well, what we did worked." That ... read more

We had been coming to AHOD for many years, then it got way to expensive so we went to another vet but couldn't get my dog in for an unexpected issue so we took her back to AHOD and found she had arthritis of the spine, they put her on medication but only got 2 weeks supply. They said she had to have blood work to make sure she was tolerating it to remain on it long term. So we brought her in had the blood work, and she was cleared to keep taking meds. The cost was $89.00 for 2 2-week supply but she needs to be on it long t... read more

Made an appt at this vet's office on the recommendation of my pet sitter. My Chihuahua needed annual vaccs, and I wanted to look into dental again because he had very bad teeth. Had previously been using The Vets - they come to your home which is great, but costly. First appt got all (so I thought) vaccinations, an antibiotic for a tooth infection, and asked for estimate for dental work. Told them that previous estimates were $2,500 and I was having a hard time with that number. Paid $540 for annual tests, vaccinations... read more

This vetrinary hospital is a money pit with no diagnosis. At one time they were reputable, not any more. I will edit my review since the business managers comment to try and make me look bad. My 18 year old dog had been there multiple times for watery eyes, runny nose, etc. and they insisted on doing surgery to determine a diagnosis or they would not give antibiotics. The surgery was thousands of dollars. I had my dog there multiple times for the same issue and all with the same response- no diagnosis or medicine unless she ... read more
