They provided a life alert service, which made things worry-free. However, their maintenance needs improvement. He endured almost two weeks without an AC unit while it was over 90 degrees outside. We had to involve a lawyer to explain Nebraska laws before they finally addressed the issue. Additionally, the meals are inconsistent; sometimes we receive a good sandwich, while other times it was a cold pizza.
They do not make any accommodations when it comes to the meals - they do not pay attention to those who have dietary restrictions or allergies. The community could also be more accommodating for the money.

When we walked in for our tour, it was very quiet. You would think that at 11 am, something would be going on, but it was like everybody was gone. My loved one is very social, and is the type that gets up and walks around. And it just didn’t look like they did anything here.

They don't deliver their promises. Instead of spending on needed, overdue, repairs, they change what already works, wasting the money. A chef who should have been fired years ago, but won't be, because he knows someone at corporate. Even when we get good workers, corporate either changes them, or fires them. Instead of making good on promises, managers have to make excuses, probably to keep their job. They overlook good management employees, for ones that are corporate "yes men". We are not thrilled with the food at this community. One dinner we attended they had vegetable beef soup for one course and pork and beans with corn bread for another. The meals do not seem healthy. Mom does participate in some activities offered and the staff are superb. I would recommend Brentwood Estates.
I really did like Brentwood. I almost got a place there for my dad. It had a balcony so he could sit outside which would have been really nice. The issue is that their down payment is not refundable. They say they weave it into their orientation process but it's $1000 that you don't get back. It's very nice, a little bit fancier than other places.
