This venue was more than we wanted to spend, but we splurged on it since I fell in love with the chapel. Overall, we were pleased with how everything turned out. They have a very strict timeline, but I didn't feel as rushed as I expected. There were some things we would do differently if we could, and we have a few minor complaints about the reception setup and food: the centerpiece petals were the wrong color, they were stingy on cake cutting, and they completely didn't serve one of our hot passed appetizers. But we spent t... read more
They sent out a mass email only a few business days before changing all of the seating in the building, and less than 30 days before our wedding. We planned a wedding around ivory because that was the color of the chairs, including linens, hundreds of pillar candles, and florals. They “upgraded” them to tacky, clear plastic chairs with no padding that take away from the character of the reception hall for which we booked the venue. When we communicated frustration in such a large last second change, with insufficient time to... read more

Ashton Gardens North Houston by Walters Wedding Estates's reply: Thank you for sharing your feedback—we truly understand how important the details and overall aesthetic are when planning your wedding. The seating update was made as part of a thoughtful venue enhancement using high-quality pieces designed to elevate the space and guest experience, and we’re confident it complements the character of the venue beautifully. That said, we know last-minute changes can feel unsettling, and we want you to feel completely confident a... read more
Ashton Gardens North is a beautiful venue. The salesperson and the day-of wedding coordinator assigned were amazing, and we have only good things to say about them. However, the lead wedding planner for the venue was very unresponsive before and after the wedding and extremely hard to reach. We did not hire her as our planner, but she was still responsible for the setup. She almost never answered calls, rarely returned voicemails, and responded to emails very slowly. Our biggest complaint is that we received only half of our... read more

We are glad to hear that the venue and day-of coordinator contributed positively to your wedding day. We sincerely regret that communication regarding the deposit and the baluster repair did not meet your expectations. We take all concerns seriously and would like the opportunity to address this directly with you. Please reach out to info@waltersweddingestates.com so we can provide clarity and work toward a resolution.
Extremely disappointed with how the entire planning process turned out with Ashton Gardens. When we first toured the venue, it seemed like a great place and that it was extremely professional and organized. However it was the complete opposite. It seemed like employees were not trained at all in any type of event planning, apparently no employee works with other employees, no one has the others email information. We were originally assigned to one planner and then assigned a different planner about half way through, which tu... read more
PLEASE READ THIS!! In the beginning, we had such a nice experience with the managing wedding coordinator, the prep, hiring partnered vendors, etc. But on the day of the wedding, we had a different day-of-coordinator, and she was not helpful at all. Here are some of the most disappointing experiences we had on our wedding day: 1) During the ceremony at the grand bride entrance, one of the doors would not open, which ruined the grand entrance moment. The staff were NOT prepared - they did not double check anything. 2) The DJ h... read more
This venue was perfect….until I started getting phone calls/text the day after the wedding. They all started the same, “I didn’t say anything because we didn’t want to ruin anyone’s night, but”. It seems they started running out of food before the last two tables were served. It was a fajita bar and 20 people had no tortillas and very little meat (they were quite strict on how many pieces of meat each got from the beginning). At least 6 of those 20 got no food at all. There were 150 invited, 148 showed up and I didn’t attempt... read more
SUMMARY: This venue is wonderful, but you will need to put in some extra effort on your own in order to have a perfect day. I recommend this venue with the caveat that you need your own day of coordinator and you will have the wedding of your dreams! One thing to note is that this venue has just been bought out, so it operates very corporately, hands off, and rigidly. The more you can take on and manage yourself the better your experience will be. PROS: - Beautiful Venue with lots of natural lighting - Space is nice and sepa... read more

Ashton Gardens North Houston by Walters Wedding Estates's reply: Hello Inga, thank you for leaving a review. We appreciate, and value, your feedback and wish you the best!
This venue is beautiful. But the staff is TERRIBLE. They lie and are beyond insincere. It's like working with a used car salesman. They tell you everything is perfect at first. Then they get your last installment with no refunds. Everything changes. Everything goes their way unless your ready to fork out several more thousands of dollars. And all that stuff they said they could do a few mi th ago, now they absolutely can't, won't or you owe them more money to do it, and everything now is on their time and convenience. Ashton Gardens North Houston by Walters Wedding Estates's reply: UPDATE: After consulting with the family and discussing their concerns as detailed above, all parties agreed there were logical miscommunications. The bride, groom and family’s opinion are not actually reflected in the comments above. None the less, Ashton Gardens administered prompt and faithful action to ensure our couples and their family were sincerely satisfied with their event experience over the weekend. By those actions, the family, bride and groom as w... read more
Not very flexible at all. We could not do partial orders on any of their food items. Although they do not have a variety of desert option, ithey made it very difficult for us to use an outside vendor. to cater our desert. They required additional insurance from the vendor with Ashton Garden's name listed on the insurance. Ashton Gardens West more concerned about protecting their establishment than satisfying their guest.

Ashton Gardens North Houston by Walters Wedding Estates's reply: We truly appreciate your review and openness about your experience! The customization of our menus is always an option and as you mentioned, must be done so for all guests in attendance of our events. As for our requirements with vendors, it is a policy of Ashton Gardens, as well as hundreds of other venues, that all food vendors provide proof of liability insurance. This requirement is as much a policy to protect Ashton Gardens as it is to protect our hosts. S... read more
