After having been absent from the Milwaukee dinning scene for about 8 years, we were pleasantly surprised to rediscover Bacchus. This is fine dining at its best: the food is art, the service is impeccable and the wine list is pricey but robust. The seared fois gras appetizer was divine. Bacchus was recommended to me through a friend who had been there several times before. I have to say that I was far from disappointed. First of all the service was amazing. Our servers, Curt and Ryane, were very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. We ordered the chef's choice tasting menu and were very impressed. My girlfriend, whose birthday we were celebrating, is a vegetarian and Bacchus was very well prepared to accommodate her needs. Good food and service. Glasses of wine were shots of wine. Experience not worth the price.
Our food, as usual, was delicious this time. The restaurant sources its cheeses in WI, its produce very locally, and its meats from local farms as well. The fish is often from afar, to get cold, deep ocean fish. The wine list is inclusive of all the main producing areas in the world. Many representatives visit this restaurant. Hard for me to order and have choices that were gluten dairy free. Get with it! Should not be difficult for your chef to figure this out.
