Bacchus ambience is tasteful elegance and provides a lovely view of the lake. Food selections, preparation, and presentation were all wonderful. Only disappointment was the alcoholic selections. My whiskey sour tasted like straight bourbon ( and no cherry) and the wine selection, although extensive, was exorbitantly priced. It was our anniversary so we splurged but I don't think I'll be back for a quite awhile.
staff was excellent so was the food, enjoyed specialty drinks, great appetizers, excellent unique salad, wonderful main course, nice atmosphere, had a great experience and will return
My wife and I came up from Chicago for a quiet and romantic weekend. I'm so happy we chose to dine at Bacchus. We ordered the 40 oz porterhouse for two. The service was the icing on the cake for a delicious meal and great sides. For dinner and 3 drinks, the total was only $136 and only $8 of that was tax. For five star dining, I felt like this was way better than spending twice as much in Chicago and getting half the experience.
This is a place for a special occasion (anniversary, birthday) both on ambiance and on price point. The service was outstanding (Amy)- we were the only family there with small children and she made us feel welcome and provided great recommendations. The Wagyu steak was so tender and delicious you could cut it with your fork! The building is a historical building so it provides the restaurant with character. Decoration inside the actual restaurant needs re-doing (feels very 90's somehow).
The place I try to get to whenever I'm in Milwaukee. The detail to service is exceptional as is the food. Just the best.
After having been absent from the Milwaukee dinning scene for about 8 years, we were pleasantly surprised to rediscover Bacchus. This is fine dining at its best: the food is art, the service is impeccable and the wine list is pricey but robust. The seared fois gras appetizer was divine. The lamb main course equally tasty though for a dish that calls itself "two ways" the chops were very close in preparation. If you're out for a special occasion or on the expense account, this is a white-table-cloth experience you don't want ... read more
Bacchus was recommended to me through a friend who had been there several times before. I have to say that I was far from disappointed. First of all the service was amazing. Our servers, Curt and Ryane, were very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. We ordered the chef's choice tasting menu and were very impressed. My girlfriend, whose birthday we were celebrating, is a vegetarian and Bacchus was very well prepared to accommodate her needs. The champagne I ordered and their brandy old-fashioned sweet were the... read more
Great restaurant and service. We had the scallops and the filet. Both were excellent. The smores dessert was to die for.
Good food and service. Glasses of wine were shots of wine. Experience not worth the price.
