My husband and I visted Bacchus for the first time this past weekend to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. My wife and I are used to casual dining (Cheesecake Factory, Bonefish Grill, etc) but we treated ourselves this night. For our entree we shared the New York Strip special. It was cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing. We enjoyed the veal ravioli and scallop small plate dishes. I booked this reservation for a birthday dinner with my girlfriend. On the reservation, I asked if they could do something special for her birthday, similar to the requests I've made at other Bartolotta restaurants. I was disappointed when we left that evening and they had not fulfilled my request. Had been away from Milwaukee - in exile - for eight years and had missed Bacchus. It is, as remembered, excellent. Attentive service, wonderful food, lovely ambience.
Bacchus is always a great experience from the moment you enter and are greeted by your servers, you realize you'll be in good hands. We have had several servers through the years and you can tell they enjoy their jobs and are very well trained. It's really my favorite place in the city. The food is always fabulous and beautifully served.
Warm New York ambience, service was helpful and attentive. Foie gras, pork belly, risotto and molten chocolate cake were all over-the-top delicious. Highly recommend for intimate dining whether a romantic couple, impressive business dinner or a group of friends just catching up. Will be back every time we're in Milwaukee or Chicago (yes, it's worth the drive).
Our celebration dinner was a gastronomical delight! I ordered the trout served over cabbage and potato pancake. The seasonings blended so well with the entire dish. Our wine selections complimented the meal. Our server presented each entree with finesse and confidence. The ambience was quiet and beautiful. We will continue to return for our special celebrations!
