The food was simply outstanding. The atmosphere near perfect. My out of town guests from Illinois were quite impressed. Mission accomplished.
This dining establishment, one of several owned and operated by Joe Bartolotta, is one of our favorites. It provides consistent excellence in cusine, atmosphere and service. And, just when you think that excellence can not be surpassed, they surpass the excellent standards they consistently meet. You must try Vanda Brown's Sticky Toffee Pudding. It is to die for!!! Kudos to Mr. Bartolotta, the General Manager, Mr. Ted Anderson, the Chef, and the staff.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday on 1/24/09. The primary waitress was excellent - despite the fact she had hurt her ankle and was limping throughout the evening. Her assistant was also attentive. We had excellent entrees and appreciated the chef checking on how we liked the new beef selection he was offering that evening. Our waitress was also very knowledgeable in helping us a select a suitable wine - her choice was excellent!
As always, my experience at a Bartolotta restaurant was outstanding. I put in a reservation through Open Table. We showed up a bit early and they were able to accomadate us with no problem. We were seated in the atrium room and a nice gentle snow began, almost as if it were planned, and it made for great ambience. Overall it was a great experience. Food, Service and atmosphere were just tremendous. Everything I've come to expect with the Bartolottas.
Food was excellent as expected from Adam Siegel and Bartolotta. Service was superb. Atmosphere not up to Lake Park Bistro but did the best they could with the location. Only criticism is that some of the portions were a little small (only 3 scallops in seafood risotto, micro-sized sticky toffee pudding)and the scallops seemed a little overseasoned (salty?)
The meal was excellent. We took my folks there for Valentine's day and had a very enjoyable and memorable experience. The wine list was fantastic, we ended up drinking our usual special occasion bottle of Caymus Cabernet. The appetizers and soup were our favorite courses. The service was satisfactory at best, I think since they were so busy and working at full-staff it is probably better and more personalized during regular non-holiday hours. Sitting outside in the solarium in the middle of February was a fun experience. I w... read more
Always a treat to be able to go to a restaurant you've been to multiple times before, and consistently be amazed. If not the best restaurant in Milwaukee, then top two!
The food and atmosphere was fantastic. The service was great for a very busy Valentine's Day night. The bar is quite expensive so if you are on a budget, try to save your money for the food. I had red snapper and my wife had the filet mignon. Both were done perfectly and had great flavors.
Outstanding food, outstanding service. Really- there was no room for improvement. I haven't completely enjoyed a dinner out like that in quite a while. From the cocktails (which were really good), to the dessert, everything was great. We had the cheese plate as an appetizer, and it was a highlight.
